Training for the Future

Track and field coach Anthony Hall is training Mount Vernon youth for college scholarships and a future in running. Coach Hall is an official volunteer with the Mount Vernon School Board and a certified USA Track and Field coach. He’s been coaching for 26 years, initially in Florida, later in the Bronx and now Mount Vernon where he has been working with youth since 2005.
Hall has coached Deajah Stevens who came in second at the 2016 Olympic trials which qualified her to the 2016 Olympics in the 200 meters. Stevens has been running since she was eleven years old and has been a member of the Coach Hall’s Express Track and Field Team, based in Mount Vernon, New York, where she has been under the tutelage of coach Anthony Hall since she started running.
Coach Hall trains with his track club Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at Grimes Elementary School between the hours of 5:15-6:45pm. The USA Track and Field (USTAF) is the United States national governing body for the sports of track and field, cross country running, road running and race walking.
USATF is a non-profit organization that is involved in many aspects of the sport at the local, national, and international level – providing the rules, officials, coaching education, sports science, youth programs, the National Track & Field Hall of Fame, an annual meeting and much more.
